Even though the weather today has been nothing but gloomy, I was greeted with nothing but sunshine when I stopped by the Sephora at Times Square. The ever-effervescent Sal Zullo, NYC Product Specialist, spotted me and waved as he effortlessly juggled the attention of three clients. Times Square may always be busy, but there isn’t always a Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare™ event — and clients from around the world were getting in on the action.
“This may look like a lot, but I swear: you can do it in five minutes,” Sal explained as he arranged an assortment of the Alpha Beta® Peel, Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution, Ferulic + Retinol Anti-Aging Moisturizer, and the Clinical Concentrate Boosters in front of a client. “Do you feel a tingle?” he asked. “That means it’s working.” While he explained how acids exfoliate the skin, I checked out what the other beauty consultants were up to: Kasi showed me how to use the technology behind Pantone Color IQ (the perfect way to get matched to your shade of CC Cream SPF 18) and Xiomara explained to a Spanish-speaking client how Trifix™ Oil-Free Moisture clears pores to help prevent blackheads and blemishes.
The biggest draw? Complimentary steam facials! Account Coordinator Derenisse Infante set up Steamer Solutions at the front of the store, and the steam puffing away pulled in people from the street. Anyone who bought a steamer (or more than $100 of product) brought home a deluxe Ferulic + Retinol Brightening Solution or Clarifying Colloidal Sulfur Mask.
